ALESSANDRA PATRUCCO:
Singer and composer in jazz and improvised music, she trained in classical, modern and vocal extended technique.
After she has been attending the counterpoint class at Conservatorium in Amsterdam with Misha Mengelberg, she begin to play with ICP orchestra and she forms a quintet with some ICP members, Misha Mengelberg, Ab Baars, Tristan Honsinger and Han Bennink, for her own new project called CIRCUS, Improvised opera. Thanks to Thuskopie Fonds and Datarecords, ICP label,it was possible to realize the cd CIRCUS,realesed at the Bimhuis on February 2007.
She is leading an italian band, SASA’ that plays in a contemporary italian folk jazz style original songs where texts are wrote in the old piedmontese dialect. This project received grants from the italian local government and Institutions in order to realize the first cd Varda la luna that is been realised in September 2007 by Nota Label.
Particularly interested in composition with pure vocal experimentation with or without texts, poetry and sounds landscapes, original samples and loops, she has been working with the solo performance BOSCO DI VETRO, for voice and live electronics, since 2003.
Sometimes these compositions are involved in theatrical productions like recently with the Dutch – Italian group VILLA SONORA (Marije Nie, Saskia Meijs, Marko Bonarius, Meike Van den Akker) winner of the Jur Naessens Muziekprijze 2007 with the performance Red Shoes.
